My Review: New Chapter Turmeric Force – Why I Don’t Recommend It

My Review: New Chapter Turmeric Force - Why I Don't Recommend It

It’s time to review New Chapter Turmeric Force, a product that caught my eye because of its “supercritical organic” origins. At least that’s what it claims. To be honest, I didn’t really believe it at first, but I decided to try it out and see for myself if it’s as good as they say.

Unlike other supplements, it contains really low doses of turmeric and it doesn’t have any bioperine. So in my opinion, it’s not that perfect as it seems. But that’s just the theory, so I needed to see for real how it works.

So after trying it out for about 2 months, I will reveal you both the good and the bad things I found about it.

Note: This review is based only on my experience with the product. I am not trying to praise/criticize it or its company, I am simply telling how it worked in my case.

So Let’s Get To The Review

My Review: New Chapter Turmeric Force - Why I Don't Recommend ItFull Name: Turmeric Force from New Chapter

Quantity : 60 capsules

Best Actual Price: $22.17

Where I Bought It From: Ebay

Designed For: Joint pain caused by inflammation and auto-immune forms of arthritis (rheumatoid, psoriatic)

My Rating: 1 out of 10

Worth Buying?: Definitely not. Its ingredient aren’t spectacular and it contains a pretty bad additive. In terms of pain, I can’t say it helped me considerably, so I don’t have any reason to recommend it. It is indeed pretty cheap for the quantity, but it’s not a high quality product, in my opinion

What I Liked About It

  • Pretty affordable for the quantity you’re getting (60 pills for $22)
  • You only have to take one pill per day
  • There are lots of reviews about it all over the Internet (though they’re not all positive)

What I Didn’t Like About It

  • It didn’t decrease my pain or my swelling in almost 2 months
  • The ingredients have pretty low doses and they don’t contains anything special
  • There’s a pretty dangerous additive inside (hypromellose)
  • The company isn’t very honest: they say this product is 100% organic and better than the rest (that’s what I understand from that description), but it has additives inside and weaker ingredients than the rest

Is there any product I recommend instead? Yes, I constantly use a supplement called Turmeric Plus which is usually my #1 recommendation for RA and joint pain. It costs pretty much the same but it has some better ingredients and in my case, it was extremely effective. I’ve been buying it for about 2 years and it still works even today. So that’s what I would choose.

My Experience With This Supplement

My Review: New Chapter Turmeric Force - Why I Don't Recommend ItMy Background: I’m a big fan of turmeric because throughout the time, it turned out to be the best treatment for my rheumatoid arthritis. Unfortunately, most of the supplements I tried were pure garbage because they didn’t contain the right things in the right doses.

So it took me a while until I understood what kind of turmeric is the best for my body.

But other than that, I bought New Chapter’s supplement mainly for experimenting. My pain was about 7-6.5 on average, which is pretty bad. I had times throughout the day when it was worse and times when it was better, but that was the average. The pain was worse in my hands and my elbows, so that’s where I was hoping to get some relief.

First Weeks: I didn’t notice any major improvement. My body wasn’t really reacting to these pills, because I didn’t feel like my pain was decreasing or even that it was a bit better. My swollen areas were just as before, no difference.

After One Month: To be honest, I can’t say I felt the effect of this supplement even after one month. It was like I wasn’t on anything. I would still wake up with stiff joints every morning (which wouldn’t go away until after 45-50 minutes), I was still in a lot of pain at times and I still needed ice packs a lot of time.

So in one month, this supplement didn’t change much in my pain. Unfortunately, things weren’t much better in the next weeks either. I continued to take the pills, but as I had no results, at one point I decided to stop. It was pretty clear that it wasn’t helping me.

PRO #1 – Only One Pill Per Day

I’m going to start with this point because it’s one of the biggest advantages of this supplement, in my opinion.

I don’t know too many products with turmeric that only require one pill per day. Yeah, there are some that recommend 1-2 pills and let you choose, but obviously everyone will take 2.

So New Chapter’s supplement is probably the first one like this. To me, this would mean that it’s so concentrated that taking it once a day is enough. But if you look at the ingredients, it’s not really the case (I will tell you more below). That’s why one pill per day seems really surprising, at least for me.

So why is it an advantage then? Because it’s super comfortable to take only one pill in the morning and then forget about it. In fact, it seems too good to be true. That’s why I was a bit in doubt. I even checked the label twice to be sure that I didn’t catch it wrong, but I didn’t.

 PRO #2 – Pretty Affordable

If you listen to the label and take only one pill per day (which you should), one bottle should last for 2 whole months. That is a lot, to be honest. And considering that it only costs about $22, this supplement sounds like a great deal.

But that’s only when it comes to quantity. Because in terms of quality, things aren’t that good (I will tell you why a few paragraphs below).

But I don’t mean to criticize it now, because it’s definitely a really affordable supplement for almost any budget. Most products with turmeric that I tried would only last for a month, and they cost pretty much the same. Obviously, they were better in terms of relieving pain, but that’s not what I want to talk about.

So when it comes to price, I can’t say anything bad about this supplement. But I have to warn you about one thing: check out its quality before. Make sure you see the whole picture before you make an opinion about it.

Because even though it has a good price, there are some pretty bad things about it as well.

CON #1 – Weak Ingredients

My Review: New Chapter Turmeric Force - Why I Don't Recommend ItThat’s the thing I was most curious about. This supplements claims to have a “supercritical” organic source, which sounds a bit weird to me. A lot of other supplements have organic ingredients, so this one should be better than them. That’s what I personally understand.

Other than that, there was one thing that caught my eye. It claims that it doesn’t need any bioperine, because it has some special compounds for optimal absorption.

That’s another thing that sounds pretty weird to me, since there are only 2 ingredients on their label.

  • Turmeric (320 mg) aqueous extract (I have no idea why that makes it different)
  • Organic Turmeric Supercritical Extract (80 mg)

Now, I’m sure that their extract is organic and that it’s really pure. But even so, there are only 80 mg of it. The extract from turmeric powder also has only 320 mg. That is honestly very little, no matter how good they were.

Most supplements on the market contain about 1000-1500 turmeric powder and some other turmeric extracts. They’re probably not as concentrated as New Chapter’s extracts, but they still have a way higher dose.

So I personally cannot believe that this supplement could do anything for my pain. At least not with an ingredient list like this. In my opinion, it’s far from as good as it seems and I’ve seen that while I took the pills. It really didn’t do much for my pain, so I could draw my conclusions from that.

CON #2 – It Didn’t Work

Call me bias if you want, but for me, this was the best proof that this supplement isn’t as good as it seems. In my case, it really did not work.

I took the pills for almost 2 months, until I got really bored because I didn’t see any improvement. My joints were still painful and things weren’t better from any point of view.

It’s true that I don’t have a mild form of RA anymore (I did at first), so many turmeric supplements didn’t help me much. However, most of them did decrease my pain partially. Or at least they decreased the swelling from several parts of my body. My hands remained swollen most of the times, but my shoulder usually need a weaker supplement to get better.

So I can’t say too many good things about New Chapter’s supplement. I don’t know how it worked for other people, but in my case, it was far from good.

CON #3 – Really Bad Additive

My Review: New Chapter Turmeric Force - Why I Don't Recommend ItThat’s probably the thing that bothered me most about this supplement. Okay, it doesn’t have the best ingredients, it doesn’t work that well, but at least it shouldn’t be misleading.

Because it claims to be 100% organic and the label proves that it’s not.

So if you take a closer look on the label, you can notice there are 4 additives in these pills: olive oil, maltodextrin, beeswax and hypromellose in the capsule. Now, I don’t have anything against the first 3 because they’re not very dangerous, but I’m totally against the last one.

I did a quick research on Google and I found out that hypromellose is “semi-synthetic polymer” that is considered to be toxic for our endocrine system. That is definitely something you need to know before taking these pills.

So you can’t tell me that these pills are 100% organic when there’s hypromellose on the label. Not only that’s a non-organic substance, but it’s also pretty dangerous. And there weren’t lots of studies conducted on it, only a few. If they found out this until now, imagine in 10 years.

So for me, this is a really big downside when it comes to this product. It’s not something I made up, it’s something that’s stated on the label. But unfortunately, most people aren’t aware how dangerous that substance could be.

My Final Verdict – Is It Worth Buying?

Short answer: Definitely not, because it has some pretty weak ingredients, it’s not 100% organic as they say and in my case, it didn’t work.

My personal answer: So I wouldn’t buy this thing again, for sure. What bothers me most is that the company wasn’t very honest about this product. You can’t say it’s 100% organic when it has a pretty dangerous additive inside.

But it’s not only about this. All our food is full of additives, so an extra one wouldn’t change much, in my opinion. It’s about the fact that it didn’t work at all. I didn’t get any relief, my joints were as swollen as before and overall I didn’t feel like I was taking something. I was feeling just as bad as before.

So in my opinion, this supplement isn’t worth buying at all. I don’t mean to criticize its company because I have nothing against it, but I really did not like their product. It does indeed seem really cheap, but if you look at its ingredients and at how it works, you will understand why. So it’s not an advantage, even though I stated it as such.

Therefore, if I was you, I wouldn’t buy this supplement. You have much better choices at this price, that are both more effective and more natural.

But it’s up to you what you decide, I only hope that I have given you both the good and the bad side of New Chapter’s product.

I think this is very overpriced. The quantity of turmeric is indeed low and the packaging does not say the % of curcuminoides. I imagine there aren’t any then. Good point with the additives, I found lots of people complaining on Amazon and Ebay.

I have not tried this out but I’m not planning to.

Hi Giuseppe. Unfortunately I can’t tell you lots of good things about this product, as I wouldn’t recommend it either. I don’t think the additive itself could cause much harm (we’re pretty used to worse additives nowadays), but this product is surely not organic, as they say. So at $22, it’s not worth it if you ask me.
